New Champions Crowned! 2009-07-26 08:55
Well folks, it's a wrap! The first season of the TPG ROLEX is now complete!

Taking top honors in DP is Matt Strand in the Adams Autosport Ford Riley! Congratulations! It was a close finish, so close in fact that Matt had already conceded the Championship to fellow DP competitor Rob Nelson as Matt was SURE that he hadn't won. After careful review, it was decided that Matt would in fact be the Champ as he completed more laps than Rob at Watkins Glenn and also had 4 poles in his favor! That leaves Rob in P2 in DP and in P3 is none other than Roman Moravcik! Congrats to you three for driving so well all season!

In GT, the TOP DOG is Charles Aaron Fat Fenders Paco Ramirez in his Satellite Racing BLOATED Ferrari 360 Modena. Talk about driving ability! Paco soldiered on all season at the front of the pack, which meant he got lots and lots of weight! He effectively carried another person in his car for most of the season! Great job Paco!
In P2 in GT, yup, you've got it, we have Scott "Steady Eddie" Newgent in his NP&R Ford Mustang followed by another familiar name on the podium in P3, Chris Chaney in the EyeQue Racing Ford GT40!

On the top step of the podium in the TEAM standings in DP, we have Adams Autosport with a whopping 206 pts over P2 Satellite Racing with 126 pts and in P3 comes Nightstar Racing with 102 pts.

In the GT TEAM standings, we see NP&R with 212 pts providing them a comfortable lead over P2 Satellite Racing with 150 pts and in P3 is EyeQue Racing with 106 pts.

In the DP Constructors Championship, it's FORD by a long shot in DP over Pontiac, Porsche, BMW and Lexus respectively.

In the GT Constructors Championship, it's once again FORD by a landslide over Ferrari SpA (360 Modena), Porsche, Ferrari (430), and Chevrolet.

Season 1 of the TPG Rolex is officially over!

Stay tuned as things heat up for Season 1 of the TPG WCS Championship and Season 2 of the TPG Rolex! It's sure to be more of the same close quarters racing that was seen and witnessed by all once it gets underway again shortly!

We look forward to seeing all of you on track with us and hope to see some new faces as well!

Congratulations to ALL of you! You are ALL winners and can take pride in knowing that you are part of an elite group of drivers!

CYA on track!

One round left at Watkins Glen in the TPG ROLEX inaugural season!! 2009-07-20 19:00
The first season of the TPG ROLEX series is fast coming to a close.

After a GREAT turnout at Homestead, Matt Strand in DP and Bailey Bump in GT BOTH went 2 for 2 and ended up on the top wrung of the podium when the dust was settled! Nice job fellas! Returning TPG alum Eric Batch put a hurting on Stand in DP and made the young Floridian WORK for his Top Dog status last Saturday night! Good job Eric keeping the young whippersnapper honest!

Rob Nelson (stinkybritches) rounded out the DP podium in P3. Did the first few races wins and subsequent added "rewards weight" hurt Rob's early dominance in the DP class! Not really since he's on the top step even though he's finished 3rd the last two events in a row. Looks like he's got some tough company in DP and another young gun wants that top step too!! Watch your back Rob and race fast and clean!

In GT Charles Ramirez drove his FAT Fendered Ferrari 350 to P2 in front of Chris Phillips in the Eleanor 'Stangwho had to duck into the pits with only a couple of laps left for a splash and go. That move caused him a slide from P1 to P3 in GT when the checkered came out.

In the early going in GT, it looked like the Ferrari 430's of Jim Perusse and Brian Stewart wanted some of Phillips' Mustang and made their intentions known ASAP as they were ALL UP under his rear wing! Also in GT, Chris Chaney had to drop out with an uncharacteristic blown engine? Bummer for Chaney as it looked like it was going to be one heck of a fight amongst the top 6 GT cars as they were within just under 1 second of each other.

There's one race left on the S1 Rolex roster!

As we head to the Finger Lakes region of New York to Watkins Glenn, there's a storm a brewin!

In DP, Rob "Stinkybritches" Nelson is riding in P1 with 106 pts.
Matt "racer11" Strand is in P2 with 102 pts.
and there's a tie for P3 between:
Roman Moravcik and Eric Dennis with 82 pts.

Not far back from them in DP is Wayne "Napo" Gretzky in P4 with 80 pts. and Gary "Greased Lightning" Cates with 72 pts.

In GT, Charles "Fat Fenders Ferrari" "Paco" "Lightning" Ramirez is in P1 with 122 pts.
Scott "Steady Eddie Xank" Newgent is in P2 with 114 pts.
and there's a tie for P3 between:
Chris "Goat" Chaney and Wayne "The Beast" Hall with 90 pts.

Not far behind those four in GT is Chris "If it ain't fixed, break it" Phillips with 82 pts. and Brian "RC mania" Stewart with 72 pts.

What will be the outcome of the Watkins Glenn race? Come and see for yourself! Some people have more to lose than others in this upcoming race for sure. Will the guys on top get booted? We'll know in 5 days!

CYAZ at the Glenn!

VIR Inaugural Season Opener! 2009-05-30 08:35
To say that the "NEW" TPG Rolex Series made a GRAND entrance would be an understatement!

16 drivers made their way to the stage for the 1st event held at BEAUTIFUL Virginia International Raceway!

8 drivers in each of the respective fields (Daytona Prototype and Grand Touring) took to the track for the kickoff!

Lots of old faces showed up and some new ones made it as well! BRAVO!

If that is any indication of how things are going to go....it looks like it will make for some interesting racing and since this series is using the weight rewards.....who knows who will emerge as the Inaugural Season Champ!

Good luck and keep it on the black!
